CBD information

Cannabidiol, also called CBD, belongs to a large group of cannaboids. Cannabidiol is extracted from Industrial hemp plants (Cannabis Sativa L) that also contain many different active substances.

Cannabidiol is obtained through various extraction methods. And has a completely different effect than delta 9 (THC) for which the hemp plant is best known. But cannanidiol in contrast does not contain any psychoactive properties. In recent years, more and more studies have been conducted into Cannabidiol and its special properties.

The endocannabinoid system

The endocannaboid system ensures that a correct balance is maintained within the body.

The endocannaboids and their receptors are found in the brain, organs, connective tissue, glands and immune cells. In every piece of tissue, the cannaboid system performs certain tasks, but always with the same goal: Homeostasis, maintaining a stable balance in the body, despite the fluctuations on the outside of the body.

Cannaboids promote homeostasis at every level of biological life, from the sub-cells to the organism, and perhaps even the entire communities beyond. To give a good example: Autophagy, which is a process in which a cell sequests parts of its contents in order to digest and recycle itself. This process is accomplished by the cannaboid system
